Understanding how to best support your child or your family can be challenging at times.

Family & Child Counselling

These days families come in all shapes and sizes and can consist of family members living together, or separated for any number of reasons. This variety of living conditions can create unique challenges relating to the many different roles and responsibilities that each family member may take on. No matter what your unique family dynamic may be, strengthening relationships, learning to support each other in new ways and working to resolve conflict through family counselling can lead to a happier and healthier life for everyone involved.

Child Counselling

As an Early Childhood Educator for almost 11 years, I bring a strong developmental approach to child counselling.

Being able to understand the big emotions they are experiencing and what they need developmentally is a benefit.

Children like adults have very big emotions and if they don’t know how to manage them, it can result into anxiety, anger, depression and self-esteem issues.

It can be challenging for a child to balance school, sports, family dynamics, friends and societal pressures. These challenges sometimes show up in many different ways, and it can be challenging for a parent to watch and also know how to support them.

Helping your child learn to express their inner thoughts and feelings through art and play therapy is one of the many tools I use to help children navigate those big emotions.

Teen Counselling

I can speak from experience that the teenage years can certainly feel overwhelming at times.

The battle between gaining more independence and learning how to maneuver through the different stresses and pressures can be challenging.

This battle can often create conflict or challenging behaviors in the family dynamic.

Counselling can provide a neutral space for all family members to feel respected and valued all while learning new tools and understanding.

Family Counselling

With the variety of family structures nowadays, it can feel very confusing trying to understand everyone’s perspective.

Blended families, divorce, individual parenting, spiritual values, health issues and all the other facets of life mean that, at times, it’s difficult to strike a balance.

Family counselling can provide a safe space for everyone to be heard and respected all while learning new tools to bring back harmony in the household.
